Karbuni is located in a bay that is one of the best anchoring spots for small boats, while the archipelago by Karbuni is scattered with an abundance of small islands strewn with picturesque beaches. Karbuni is a town on the southern coast of the island of Korcula, not far from Blato. Karbuni got its name from the traditional occupation of its locals - the preparation of wood carbon (karbon) and soot.
