The island of Koločep lies only 3 Nautical Miles away from Dubrovnik. There are two developed areas: Gornje Čelo and Donje Čelo. The Island is covered with typical vegetation at a number of relevant locations including the Forest Park at Gornje Čelo (12 hectares, mainly Aleppo Pine and Macchia, protected since 1961), the Macchia at Donje Čelo with several exotic species.
