Mljet is one of the favourite places visited by couples in love, nature and history lovers, artists and meny others... Once on the island most of the people coming back to visit it over and over again trouhg the years.
Mljet is situated on the west dalmatian coast. It is the most western island of all bigger croatian islands. It is situated paralely to penisola of Pelješac, between there's Mljet channel 8 kms long. Eastwestern end of the island is 18 kms away from island of Korčula while the other, westeastern end 30 kms from Dubrovnik. The closest sea- cross to the peninsola of Pelješac is from Sobra (Zaglavac) to Prapratno, cca 5 miles. There are 25 miles from Sobra to Dubrovnik, 13miles from Pomena to Korčula and 17 miles from Saplunara to Dubrovnik.
West coasts of the island are faced to the open sea looking to far away coast of Italy. Mljet is 37 kms long , 3 kms wide and has a surface of cca 100,4 km2. It is one of the biggest Croatian islands 8th larger island of all. The higest mountain is 514 m high and is called Veliki Grad, is situated over village of Babino Polje. Of other higest mountains there are Veliki Planjak (389m), Sutilija (390m), Vrh od Kantuna (465 m) and Zirine (488 m) as well as some others.
